E-credits are a unit of value introduced by the Belgian government to make the transport sector greener. They help to reach the European target (the RED II directive), which requires member states to use more renewable energy in transport.
How does it work?
Companies with their own charge points earn e-credits based on the number of kWh charged at their charge points. These e-credits are traded on a virtual market with fuel suppliers. The price per e-credit is determined by that market and can therefore fluctuate.
When are you eligible?
Your charge points together have a charging capacity of at least 50 kW, for example three charge points of 22 kW or five charge points of 11 kW.
The charge points are MID-certified.
All charge points are at one location.
What does STROOHM do?
STROOHM automatically collects the kWh data from your charge points, converts it into e-credits and sells them on your behalf via a specialised trader. STROOHM invests 20% of the proceeds from trading e-credits in sustainable forest management in Belgium.
