How do e-credits work at STROOHM?

E-credits are a unit of value introduced by the Belgian government. Companies with their own charge points can earn e-credits based on the number of kWh charged via those charge points. Fuel suppliers buy these e-credits to meet the European targets for renewable energy.

When are you eligible?

  • You have a total charging capacity of at least 50 kW, for example three charge points of 22 kW or five of 11 kW.

  • Your charge points are MID-certified, so that consumption is measured correctly.

  • All charge points are at one location.

What does STROOHM do for you? STROOHM takes over the entire process, so you can focus on your core activities:

  1. We automatically retrieve the charged kWh from your charge points.

  2. We convert those kWh into e-credits.

  3. We sell the e-credits for you via a specialised trader.

The price per e-credit depends on the market and can fluctuate.

The STROOHM Forest

STROOHM spends 20% of the proceeds from e-credits on sustainable forest management in Belgium. In October 2026, for example, STROOHM bought a first forest of 2 hectares in La Roche-en-Ardenne, on the banks of the Ourthe. With the proceeds from e-credits, STROOHM wants to buy even more forest.
