What is VAT reverse charge?

With VAT reverse charge, the supplier does not charge VAT. As the customer, you declare the VAT yourself in your own VAT return.

Your invoices are issued by Monta ApS, the Danish company behind our platform. This means:

  • Belgian VAT-registered company with a valid VAT number in your account: VAT reverse charge. The invoice shows 0% VAT, with a statement such as 'Article 28' or the code 'AE'. Your VAT number must be registered in the European VIES system.

  • No valid VAT number in your account: Monta charges the Danish VAT rate of 25%.

Are you VAT-registered? Then enter your VAT number in your account settings. Ask your accountant exactly how to process the VAT reverse charge. Any other questions? Create a ticket via the helpdesk.
